Monday Funday: Spring Elves, Fairies and Creatures From The Garden

mint creature food artSpring has sprung here in Austin! Fig leaves are unfurling. Tight pomegranate buds are almost ready to bloom and mint is taking over my herb garden with a burst of early strength.  Spring is a magical time of year when nature shows off her secrets, opening leaves and flowers like treasures and it's a great time of year to marvel in and enjoy nature's burst of early bounty! You  could plant some herbs yourself or go to a farmers market or your local grocery store to find tender herbs, carrots and lettuces that are just coming into season.Or you could use some fresh herbs to play. Make a garden on your plate. Add some elves, faeries and woodland creatures like the one above and let your imagination bloom! If you want more ideas check out last spring's post 5 Positive Plant Activities For Kids!Have fun! Happy spring and happy food play!
